Barzan is a major gas development project within Qatar's massive North Field, operated by QatarEnergy LNG on behalf of QatarEnergy and ExxonMobil. Despite the 2005 moratorium on North Field expansion, the project received special approval in 2009 to address Qatar's rising domestic gas demand.
