The Simandou deposit ranks among the world's largest undeveloped sources of high-grade iron ore and is expected to become one of the lowest-cost suppliers to the seaborne market. Both the Baowu Winning Consortium Simandou (BWCS) and SimFer projects have reached first production and commenced exports, marking the transition of Simandou from construction to operations. Chinese-backed investors hold significant interests across all four blocks, strengthening the project's financial and strategic support. With the rail and port infrastructure now operational, the focus has shifted to ramp-up execution, logistics coordination and achieving planned production growth. While shared infrastructure requires close coordination between operators, we do not currently view operational or logistics challenges as a material constraint to the ramp-up towards nameplate capacity.
