Report summary
ArcelorMittal Liberia (85% AML / 15% Government of Liberia) has mined direct-shipping ore (DSO) from the Western Range deposits at Yekepa, Nimba County, since 2011, railing product ~240 km to Port Buchanan. With the high-grade DSO depleting, output fell to 3.7 Mt in 2024 and around 3 Mt in 2025, and the Phase 1 DSO operation is assumed to cease in early 2026 as ArcelorMittal transitions to its Phase 2 concentrator expansion. Going forward, the Phase 2 report will be updated to track the ramp up to 20 Mtpa.
